MATCH REPORT - Potters Bar Town - 28/10/25
Billericay Town 3 (Scott 15, Collis 65, Hockey 90+3) – Potters Bar Town 1 (Anyadike 39)
Teddy Collis netted his first goal for Billericay Town to help Danny Scopes’ side record their first league win in over two months, overcoming Potters Bar Town 3-1 at New Lodge.
The 21-year-old struck on his full debut midway through the second half to restore the hosts’ lead after Damaray Anyadike had cancelled out Ryan Scott’s opener. Substitute Freddie Hockey sealed the points deep into stoppage time to give Ricay a much-needed league victory.
The hosts made a lively start and almost took an early lead when Elliot Long’s drive from 15 yards forced Bar goalkeeper Fred Burbridge into a fine save. The visitors soon responded through Brandon Adams, but his strike from the edge of the box was comfortably held by Sam Donkin.
Billericay’s pressure was rewarded on the quarter-hour mark. Jack Evans’ corner was only half-cleared, but his second delivery from the right found Scott unmarked at the near post, and the defender turned home his fifth goal of the season.
Scopes’ side could easily have doubled their advantage minutes later. Long released Alfie Cerulli through on goal, but the winger dragged his shot inches wide with only Burbridge to beat. Long was then denied by the keeper’s legs, before Matt Johnson blazed over from close range after a clever cutback from Tyrell Miller-Rodney.
Those missed opportunities proved costly as Potters Bar levelled six minutes before the break. Scott was dispossessed 20 yards from goal, sparking a goalmouth scramble that saw Jay Porter produce a superb block on the line before Anyadike finally forced the ball past Donkin to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The visitors began the second half on the front foot, with Evans well placed to block Joe Re’s early effort, but the Blues regained control as the half wore on. Their pressure told with 25 minutes remaining when Jazzi Barnum-Bobb’s cross fell kindly for Collis, who guided his effort beyond Burbridge into the bottom corner to restore the lead.
From there, the home side were comfortable in seeing the game out. Substitute Rio Oudnie-Morgan was denied by another sharp Burbridge save late on, while Barnum-Bobb fired wide moments later. The result was finally sealed in the third minute of stoppage time as substitute Hockey raced onto Liam Nash’s through ball and coolly finished past Burbridge to secure Scopes’ first league win in charge.
The victory marked a positive response to Saturday’s FA Trophy exit and a first league success since August, while Max Mitchell’s Potters Bar remain second from bottom with just two wins from 13 games.
